Civics for All Week
March 9th - 13th
Civics Week is a time for schools across the city to celebrate youth voice, civic empowerment, and the importance of registering to vote. Civics Week includes efforts to help every young person understand that their voice matters and that they can create change as active participants of their community.
For this year's Civics Week theme, the Department of Social Studies and Civics is acknowledging the celebration of America's 250th anniversary. This year's theme, Voices Then, Voices Now, invites young people to draw inspiration from the many voices throughout United States history that have made our democracy possible. During Civics Week and throughout the year, we encourage students to consider the importance of their voice in bringing democracy into the next 250 years!
Check out our comic books! All of our comics are available on the Social Studies and Civics Hub. Scan the QR below.
